Wednesday, wednesday…

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

Wednesday is challenge day at the FPD blog! And today, my glitter circles and dots are featured. :) You should check out the pages our fabulous team did with them! Because October is breast cancer awareness month, Traci, Corina and Chere have made you a pink freebie, also available on the blog. If you use it on a page about a woman you admire, you can win a $10 GC to the store. Read more about it on the blog.

Personally, I don’t know anybody who had breast cancer in my surroundings. I know my great grandmother died from it, but I never knew her. But cancer is in our family… My grandfather died from it, and my MIL is currently fighting against lung cancer (and she never smoked in her life). It’s such a horrible disease, I am very much afraid of it and I hope they will be able to find a cure for it soon… I admire the braveness of people who have it and are fighting it with everything they got, like my MIL. She is such a strong woman, I pray so much she will win this battle!

The dollar days have started at FPD! Today only, you can get my Frayed Fabric Alpha, for only $1! Who can resist this offer? I mean, ONE DOLLAR, that’s like 0.60 Euro! It’s a full alpha, complete with numbers and punctuation. Here’s the preview of it:

The offer ends tomorrow morning, European time!

Cardboard Coasters

Monday, October 8th, 2007

Hey hey, thank you girls for all the kind words! I just discovered that Wordpress doesn’t inform me any more of new posts on my blog. It was nice to read your comments, and thanks for the compliments!

Today was a very sporty day for me. As I told you in one of my previous posts, I go to work by bike. It’s a 20 minutes drive and when there’s no rain or hard wind, it actually makes me feel good, it’s the only exercise I get on a day (unless you count the constantly walking from child to child in my class to check their work exercise too!). I am (have always been) a very last-minute girl, so by the time I close my front door in the morning, I have to RUSH to be on time. I ride full speed, 3th gear and it helps me to waken up! Today, as I was racing through the streets, I suddenly started wondering if I had turned off the coffee machine before I left. I just couldn’t remember, and I knew nobody was going to be home any earlier than 6.00 pm, because I had a conference after work. I figured nine hours was definately too long and too risky for a coffee machine to be plugged in, so at lunch break, I rode back, knowing that I would have to hurry because I only have 1h20min during lunch. And you know what? It WAS still on. And I’m glad it was, I would have been really grumpy if I took the extra ride for nothing! So I had FOUR 20 minutes racing times today. I better have lost some kilo’s! :)

Today is monday, so that means: new product at FPD!

I have these for you today:

Cardboard Coasters

And here is a page I made with them. I feel so proud I actually had time to scrap with them myself! And if I may say so, I had alot of fun playing with these coasters! I think they’re very versatile, I made them big enough so they can also be used as frames.

My team has also played with them. I have the quickest and sweetest guests this month! I asked if someone could test this new product, and BAM a couple hours later they had already made something!

Here is one by Kirstie:

And this one is by Chantal:

By Senta:

And I have another amazing scrapper who is new in my team: Summer. She is so talented! Check out her gallery! I’m very proud she wants to work with me! Here is her page:

I can’t say it enough, I really LOVE my team! They make my products look so great on their pages! Kuddos to you girls!!

And have you seen this?

Make sure to check the store on Wednesday!!

Have a great week!

I feel unpopular!

Monday, October 1st, 2007

So you didn’t like the challenge, huh? Either that, or you have no sins (or you didn’t want to share them!) I had no participants for the challenge this time. Boy, am I unpopular, lol. I think it’s a pitty, there was a big prize to win, but I guess there were already so many challenges going on, maybe I just picked the wrong moment. Oh well, you just saved me a few bucks :-)

I’m still living a very hectic, very stessful life for the moment. Last week I had some after school obligations. We had conference on monday and parent night on thursday. I got home at 6.30 both nights and rushed into the usual evening routine: be a listening ear to DH and DD, cook dinner, dishwashing, bedtimeroutine for DD, a quick look at the lessons I had to give the next day, and then… crashing on the couch, lol. Seriously, I admire people who have an organized life and manage to do like 1000 things on one day. I have always a pile or two of laundry waiting for me and my house never looks clean.

Luckily, I have my wednesday afternoons off, but then I prefer to design over cleaning!

I have been working on the October Collab, which will be released midmonth. And we have an awesome new guest designer who collaborates this month! Go check the store to find out who she is!! I am thrilled to have her with us!

On another note, I think I’m finally ready to have my own car. For those of you who don’t know, I just started my driving lessons this year and for a moment it looked like I was never going to be able to learn it! But I take the family car whenever I can to go practicing on my own (MUCH more relaxing than when DH comes with me!) and last week I took the 17 km drive to my hometown without problems. I just need to practice on parking a little more, and then I think I will be ready to take the exam!

But I already want a car. Badly. Every day, I go to work, get back, do some groceries, pick up DD from school ALL BY BIKE. We are having this ‘terrific’ Belgian weather again and last week I was soaked at least four times by the time I got home. And I’m sick of it!

I have talked to DH about it and he still needs some convincing, but I’m on the lookout for a second hand car!

Let’s talk about storestuff :)I have one new item ready for tomorrow. I made a glitter version of the Circle and Dots brushes. I spent alot of time trying to make a realistic glitter style which doesn’t loose its bling once it’s saved as png, and I think it worked out really well. There are 98 circles in it: 14 styles in 7 different colors. And they’re not just recolored, I made every glitter color from scratch! Available here.

I’m offering a 20% coupon on them, just for you, my blogreaders. Let’s see if anyone still reads this blog, lol. Use the code blingbling during checkout. The 20% will also go off every other item you order (of mine), as long as the glitterdots are in your cart. 1 coupon per person, good until the 7th of October. :)

I have three layouts to show you. They were all made a while ago, I do still scrap!

The first one is a scraplift of Yen’s lo ‘Sisters’. I was in love with the cardboard from the Holiday Kit by Caterine and went right ahead and bought it.

The second one is with Shabby Fall Garden, the collab by Gina Miller and Gina Marie Huff.

And the last one was inspired by one of my Ct members, Mel. I call her the queen of blending, her lo’s are amazing. I wanted to make a page where the photo blends into the background too.

That’s it! Have a great week!
